End of a truly enjoyable Golden Week

Lilica was invited last Saturday to a day in the park at Sakazu Koeuen by some of her upper classmates from the neighborhood. Katsumi and I took her on our bicycles, a 30-minute or so trip from our place, and we all enjoyed picnicking as well as getting wet in the central fountain. It was good to get to know and play with Lilica and her new friends. Katsumi seemed to have a good time getting to know one of their mothers also.

Each day afterwards, we did something spontaneous, fun and imaginative. For example, two nights ago, we decided to eat out for dinner and go for some karaoke, just the three of us. This marks Lily's second time for karaoke which she completely loves. She already has some standard songs like "Let it Go" (in both English and Japanese) as well as 「ありがとう」("Thank you" in Japanese) that she sings. I put in some Japanese English and Spanish songs to boot. Katsumi filled in our interludes with very nice melodies.

Today, I showed Lily an area near one of the Elementary schools I work at with a really nice park alongside a river. Quite a few of the students, 1st through 3rd graders, were out there too. She learned to share me in play again and we all had a really good time.

Lilica also helped me prepare for some of my classes after we returned home. We were cutting and taping things and practicing some real world math too. I am so proud of our little girl. She's developing into a smart and thoughtful young girl, albeit she has her sudden emotional outbursts. Overall, she's pretty awesome.

One of my projects was to sew this Olaf reflector onto Lilica's Lansel school bag
