Dance in the rain! Keep your balance.

My least and most favorite time of year: the Rainy Season in Japan. It's my least favorite time because, obviously, it rains most of the time and I get around nearly 100% of the time on bicycle, パパチャリ ("daddy chariot, my original phrase). It's my most favorite time because in the middle of it, the greatest celebration, that of my daughter's birth, occurs. Just like the changing colors of the hydrangeas, アジサイ, my emotions flutter from dismay to sheer joy. Now, let's dance in the rain!

UPDATE FROM THIS MORNING: Lilica took a fall while running home from school in her rain boots and carrying an umbrella and full library book bag. ¡Aye chavala! She was running in the first place because her school friends ran to cross the street before the light changed and they didn't wait for her. Fortunately, she saw my wifey a little later and they went straight to the local clinic. She got her knees scraped and she had a big bump on her forehead that has finally subsided after applications of ice packs and "fever" sheets. She's also taken some antibiotics, just in case. It could have been a lot worse. Thank God she's OK.

I'm happy that Lily is much better, but I talked with her to make sure she knows what to do the next time. "Think. And please take care of yourself." Somehow these words have an echo to them. It's probably because they are the same words my mother used to tell me whenever I had a clumsy accident. Lily, please take after my good side, not my clutsy one. Por favor.
