Yonkoma manga or "four cell" comic strip: Yonkoma manga 「4コマ漫画」, "four cell manga", or 4-koma for short), a comic-strip format, generally consists of gag comic strips within four panels of equal size ordered from top to bottom.
The following is my first attempt at a yonkoma manga. This school year, I joined the illustration club at one of my elementary schools. Surprisingly, it's been more fun than I anticipated, with a budding style emerging from my creative consciousness. The point of one of these comic strips is to have an 落ち ("ochi") or punchline by the fourth cell. I tried to switch the meaning of "sanma," Japanese for Pacific saury, a kind of fish in Fall, with "Samma," the name of a famous Japanese comedian. I think I should have showed his trademark toothy smile. Oh well. Enjoy!
