Pre-Christmas Eve 2013

Date with my Daughter on the Emperor’s Birthday

Yesterday, I took my daughter for the first time to a brass band concert. It was for a local high school, Kura Shou, and was broken up into 3 sections with 2 interludes. Some of our favorite sections include a part of the show for a marching band performance and another for Christmas music. I had hoped there would be more Christmas music but I know that my daughter, who is 5 years and 6 months, still enjoyed most of the show.

Afterwards, we had dinner at a nearby family restaurant. It was the first time in a long time that she had stayed up that late. Yet, Lilica enjoyed her meal and our quality time together. This was definitely worth it!

It’s important to have these moments that define the focus of our family reality for us. My wifey and I are usually very busy and don’t have a chance to truly savor our time all together as a family. Usually, she and Lilica or Lilica and I are paired off while the other parent is doing something else. I hope that this next year we can make more opportunities to spend as a complete family. And, if at all possible, I pray for my wifey and I to get in some “couple” time as well.

HAPPY HOLIDAYS!!!
