Christmas is a relatively minor holiday compared to the Emperor's birthday (yesterday, Jan. 23rd) here in Japan. Even more so in comparison to New Year's Day festivities which bring families together from all across the country. Hopefully, 2011 will prove to be a prosperous and peaceful new year for this delicate web of human relations.
